Finding the best Elizabeth City vacation property experience:

Get the best value:

  • Summer is high season in the Edenton area. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Edenton restaurants and activities.
  • In the Edenton area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Edenton area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Edenton visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • First, have your group agree to date ranges and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Comfort & Quiet in a Central location has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Edenton vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
  • If there's a specific Edenton attraction you love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
